Album: Texan In A Stetson
Artist: Dottie Jack

This is Dottie's initial CD and it is a gem. It consists of 12 tunes of mostly Texas dance hall sounds and some awesome Western Swing music sung by Dottie Jack and backed by a band consisting of some of the top names in Western Swing music. It was produced by music genius Bobby Flores, who is also heard doing background vocals, playing guitar and some tremendous fiddle.
Besides Dottie and Bobby the album features three fantastic steel guitarists, Ralph Mooney, Lynn Owsley and Randy Reinhard, who is also heard playing some wonderful piano. Another steel guitar favorite, Jim Loessberg is heard playing drums. Another wonderful vocalist, Jake Hooker is heard this time playing bass. Dottie's niece Jade Michelle Jack is heard playing fiddle on two cuts and Joni Rae Jack does background vocals. A real special surprise is the great Johnny Bush joining Dottie on two of the tunes. They are Norma-Lee and Dayna Wills' Western Swinger Texan in a Stetson and the Texas dance hall shuffle Tears Will be the Chaser for the Wine.
The album also includes lots of other great Texas dance hall sounds like Melba Montgomery's I'm Not Over You and two from the pen of the late Harlan Howard I'll Save Some Blues for You and Sure Had a Good Time. Other items from that genre wonderfully done are Sentimental Ole You, It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels, I'll be a Lady Tomorrow and Merle Haggard's Love and Honor. Included is the country sounding, Blanket on the Ground and Jenny Lou Carson's Jealous Heart, a Tex Ritter memory from the 1940s. The final tune is another super Western Swing classic from the pen of fiddle legend Tex Atchison and the library of the late Wade Ray, It was Just Like Takin' Candy From a Baby.
